Natalie Hastings is masters level therapist who will be shortly sitting for her Licensed Clinical Social Work exam. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Illinois State University and then went on to receive her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a specialization in child, youth, and family based social work.
Before joining Counseling Associates, Natalie worked both in private practice and within the child welfare system, providing case management services and completing guardianships and adoptions for children and families involved in the Illinois foster care system.
Natalie’s clinical experience includes working with adults and families, adolescents, and children living with anxiety, depression, self-harm, abuse, those navigating LGBTQ+ difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), foster care and adoption issues, difficult life transitions, self – esteem challenges, communication and social skill building issues, women’s issues, complex family relationships including parent-child dynamics and siblings issues, and multiple forms of trauma.
Natalie strives to provide a nurturing, safe and non-judgmental place for her clients to be able to encounter meaningful and lasting solutions to emotional and relational struggles through therapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed therapy, mindfulness, physical movement, and other evidence-based practices and interventions. She is passionate about using a strengths-based and client centered approach when working with her clients and she believes that collaboration within the therapeutic relationship is vital to progressive growth and sustained mental & emotional health and healing.
When outside of work, Natalie enjoys spending time with her wonderful partner, family and friends, reading as many books as she can get her hands on, drinking a good cup of tea, spending time in nature, and planning her next travel adventure.
Appointments are 45-60 minutes in length and are available Monday – Thursday with both daytime and evening availability.
