Marie Epling has been working at Counseling Associates of Rockford as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1994. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work with honors from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois in 1992. During her college training, she completed an internship at Rockford Memorial Hospital’s psychiatric unit. After graduation, she furthered her professional knowledge at Janet Wattles Community Mental Health Center, now known as Rosecrance Ware Center, as a Crisis Counselor. Upon obtaining her license as a social worker, Marie began building her private practice at Counseling Associates.

In her private practice, Marie has extensive training and expertise in treating depressive and anxiety disorders. She treats relationship, grief, divorce and adjustment-related conditions; as well as stress management. Marie especially enjoys teaching communication skills including assertiveness skills and conflict resolution skills. Marie specializes in treating women’s issues. She primarily uses a cognitive-behavioral approach. She works with 16 year old on up through adulthood.
